בִּטָּחוֹן (Bitachon) – Trust
Transliteration: Bitachon
In the beloved Psalm 23, the soul-word is “בִּטָּחוֹן” (Bitachon, trust). This is not naive optimism, but a calm certainty that—even walking through “the valley of the shadow of death”—you are never abandoned. The Psalmist’s imagery of a shepherd guides us: someone who knows the landscape, who walks with us step by step, attentive to every danger and need.
Bitachon is the quiet courage to continue forward even when you cannot see the next step. By naming fears yet affirming, “You are with me,” this Psalm offers a model for facing overwhelming times. Life may not always feel safe, but the underlying presence of God means you can find deep comfort even in uncertainty.
Today, breathe slowly with the verse: “I will fear no evil, for You are with me.” Anchor yourself in the knowledge that, like a shepherd’s rod and staff, help is with you—sometimes invisible, yet always steadying.
Reflection Prompt:
When facing a challenge, can you name one way you experience Bitachon—trust—in your own life? Where can you lean into the feeling of spiritual support, even if just for a moment?
