Parashat Shoftim – Weekly Torah Portion
Parashat Shoftim covers a wide range of laws and guidance concerning the leadership structures of the Israelite people, as they prepare to settle in the Land of Israel. Topics include the appointment of judges and magistrates, rules concerning kingship, the role of the Levites, true and false prophecy, laws of warfare, and the setting up of cities of refuge. Each Aliyah guides us through key themes that shape the moral and judicial life of the nation. This 7-day plan divides the parasha into its Aliyot, following both logical thematic breaks and an even distribution of verses.
